Larry WAyne
Larry is a forensic microscopist and specialist in trace evidence examination and gunshot residue analysis, using various types of microscopes to help solve criminal cases, industrial puzzles and figure out what the dust bunnies under people's beds are really made of. He is currently Laboratory Director at an environmental lab in the San Diego area, where he specializes in research on combustion products due to wildfires and their effects on housing and infrastructure.
In addition to his lab position, he taught forensic microscopy at UC Davis for several years.
Larry received his bachelor's degree in physics from Michigan Technological University and then became a microscopist in the US Air Force, where he developed a passion for the field. He stoutly refuses to stop doing lab work even when being forced into a management position.
When not looking through a microscope, Larry has a love of building scale models of any spacecraft or jet airplane he can get his hands on.
Larry is available to speak about forensic science and microscopy.
