Mike Fischella (he/Him)

Mike is a PhD student in UCLA’s Geography Department. His research focuses on the mechanics of aeolian processes in drylands, and how changing abiotic mechanisms influence dryland vegetation.

He also deploys portable wind tunnels and spectrometers to better understand the mineralogical relationship between the soil surface and dust.

Mike is able to give talks about:

  • Soil and dust,

  • Climate science,

  • Geomorphology, and

  • Aeolian processes
