Peter Soyster, PhD (He/Him)

Peter Soyster is a Ph.D. candidate in Clinical Science at the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to providing therapy and behavioral-health services, Peter conducts cutting-edge research on creating personalized psychological treatments.

People experience things like depression, anxiety, and addiction differently and they need different kinds of support to feel better. Peter's research uses personalized data collection and machine learning to identify person-specific psychological mechanisms driving symptoms like sadness, stress, and substance use. These mechanisms are then targeted in a personalized treatment. In his free time, Peter likes re-watching old television shows, playing bass guitar, and wrestling with his cat.
